We've been using Odes for years, and the second generation takes pretty much everything we liked about the original and makes it better. It's a seriously capable little grinder, and one we'd happily recommend to anyone who wants to get more out of their coffee at home.

The biggest improvement is the upgraded 64mm flat burr set. The Gen 2 burrs offer a wider usable grind range and improved consistency, particularly at finer filter settings. They're brilliant for pour-overs, batch brew, AeroPress and cafetières, giving you plenty of room to experiment with different coffees and recipes.

Fellow have also sorted out some of the original Ode's little annoyances. The redesigned hopper feeds beans more reliably, the anti-static system keeps your worktop considerably tidier, and the larger catch cup makes the whole thing a bit nicer to use. It's a single-dose grinder, so you weigh out what you need, chuck it in and let it do its thing.

It's compact, surprisingly quiet and looks fucking lovely in Matte Black. There's no touchscreen, app or unnecessary cleverness, just a really well-designed grinder that does its job exceptionally well.
