Story

We're just a silly roaster in Sheffield right? Who do we think we are always messing with these fancy coffees and fancy producers? Why do all the Colombian bangers keep selling out? How many more do we have to release? How much of these coffees are we actually selling? Does anyone actually buy them?

Hahahahaha! We've built a platform for ourselves and all the wicked producers we'd like to work with - Double hahahaha! We've got more coffees from the Rodriguez family, Scot Rao buys these and apparently that insufferable character knows a thing or two.

Have at it people - there are like 10 more Colombia's to follow and they're all gonna cost way more!

If you don't know 'bout Linarco then get to know:

The Rodriguez family have been growing coffee in Palestina for generations. Today, the farm is led by Linarco Rodríguez Ospina, who grew up surrounded by coffee trees, learning the work from his parents and grandparents. What started as a childhood routine—helping during harvests and pitching in after school—turned into a lifelong commitment to the land and his family’s legacy.

Linarco once considered studying business administration in the capital, but ultimately decided to stay close to home. That decision, paired with his education, led to a different kind of ambition: turning the family farm into a well-run coffee business. The knowledge he gained from his studies has shaped how he manages everything from post-harvest processing to day-to-day operations.

Today, the Rodríguez family works across three farms—Finca Betania, Los Cedros, and El Diviso—each contributing to their range of micro-lots. They grow a mix of varieties, including Pink Bourbon, Gesha, Tabi, Caturra, and SL28, and apply a mix of traditional and experimental processing methods. Fermentations are carefully controlled—often anaerobic and extended—and drying is slow and deliberate, taking around 20 to 28 days.

Linarco runs the farms alongside his mother, sister, and extended family. Collaboration is at the core of their approach. Their evenings end together in the kitchen, drinking coffee and talking through the day—a tradition that has kept them grounded through growth and change.

For Linarco, building a business never meant leaving his roots behind. Instead, it meant investing in the land his father worked so hard to build and ensuring that the next generation would have something strong to carry forward.

Coffee FAQ

Does your coffee come as whole bean or ground?

We only sell whole bean coffee. This is to ensure you make the best cup possible and a big part of that is grinding the coffee just before using it.

If you're in need of a grinder, head to our brewing store.

What's the difference between espresso and filter roast?

We profile most of our coffees for both espresso and filter. In basic terms, espresso coffee is often more developed and slightly darker than a filter roast. This varies with each coffee and in general we roast our coffee to what is considered a light/modern profile. Which one is best for you depends on your intended brewing method.

You can search by brew type on our shop.

Is your coffee roasted to order?

We roast multiple times throughout the week and dispatch online orders twice per week (at minimum). Due to the way we roast coffee, we recommend a minimum rest period of 10 days before brewing.
