Fellow Stagg EKG Kettle | Smoke Green & Maple
We've had Fellow Stagg kettles in our home brewing setups for years, and despite trying a few alternatives along the way, we always end up getting the Stagg back out. There are plenty of good electric pour-over kettles on the market these days, but these are just lovely.
It's the flow rate that really makes the difference. The Stagg's precision spout gives you a beautifully controlled, steady pour, making it easy to manage agitation and water distribution without having to concentrate too hard on what your hand's doing. It's particularly nice for smaller brews, where a bit too much enthusiasm with the kettle can make a mess of your coffee bed.
Beyond that, it's got everything you'd expect from a proper electric brewing kettle: precise temperature control, a quick-heating element, a built-in brew stopwatch and a temperature hold function. The counterbalanced handle feels great in the hand, and the whole thing is refreshingly straightforward to use.
It's not the cheapest way to heat water, obviously. But if you're making pour-overs every day, the difference between a kettle that does the job and one that's genuinely lovely to use is worth something. We've tried enough alternatives to know which one we'd rather have on the counter.
